Ongoing Israeli Air Strikes on Iranian Targets

Hostilities between Israel and Iran intensify, with no sign of peace in sight. Just yesterday, the Israeli airforce struck locations within Iran, over 1,000 kilometers away. The military announced that they had started a series of attacks against rocket depots and launch facilities. Previously, Iran had launched rockets towards Israel, apparently deflected. Initially, there were no reports of impact in Israel, and the population was advised to exit the shelters.

The day before, at least 23 people were injured, three seriously, in an Iranian rocket strike on the Israeli Mediterranean city of Haifa, as stated by the rescue service.

The current conflict, often referred to as the Iran-Israel war, began on June 13, 2025. This marked a significant escalation in hostilities between the two nations. The escalation started with Iran launching a large-scale offensive involving around 400 missiles and 1,000 drones targeting Israel. Israel responded with a series of preemptive strikes aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, targeting military installations, oil refineries, and government buildings.

The conflict has caused significant regional instability, disrupting planned nuclear talks between Iran and the U.S., and threatens to involve other Middle Eastern countries. It has also disrupted global energy markets due to attacks on Iranian oil refineries and caused civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure, increasing humanitarian concerns.

The two nations have suffered causalities and damage to residential areas, leading to concerns from global leaders, who are urging for de-escalation to prevent further regional and global instability. This ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, marked by preemptive strikes and retaliatory missile and drone attacks, has brought about substantial destruction and hampered diplomatic efforts, heightening risks of further instability in the Middle East.
