Omsk Braces for Stormy Weekend, Temperatures to Plummet
Omsk residents brace for a stormy weekend, with significant precipitation and a sharp drop in temperature. The Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring of Russia (Roshydromet) warns of potential road hazards.
Starting Saturday, September 27, temperatures will begin to plummet. By Sunday, the daytime high is expected to reach around +11°C, cooling down to a chilly +6°C in the evening. The cold snap will continue into the next week, with temperatures dropping below zero.
The storm on Sunday, September 28, brings more than just rain. Up to 14.3 mm of precipitation and up to 1 cm of snow are forecast, accompanied by strong winds with gusts up to 11 m/s. This combination could make roads very slippery, posing a risk to commuters.
Omsk is advised to prepare for the storm and the subsequent cold snap. Residents should take precautions while traveling and ensure they have adequate supplies for the dropping temperature.
