Omsk "Avangard" has a new general manager during the playoffs.

Aleksei Sopin, aged 38, steps into a high-ranking position at the club.
German Chistyaakov, the general director of HK "Avangard," announced on Friday, April 4, 2025, the appointment of Aleksei Sopin as the club's General Manager.
"In 'Avangard,' Aleksei will be responsible for the development of our premier team, and will also aid in the strengthening of our entire sporting hierarchy, which includes the academy and three teams. The cohesive integration of these directions is the key to substantial achievements, which we always aim for," Chistyaakov commented.
Sopin, 38, is an alumnus of the Dinamo SDYuSHORA hockey academy in Moscow, and spent a significant portion of his career as a forward with Dinamo.
He hung up his skates in 2018 and moved into management.
As a side note, playoff matches in the KHL are currently underway. On Saturday, April 5, 2025, the Omsk "Avangard" will square off at home against Magnitogorsk's "Metallurg."

Sopin, 38, emerged as a junior player from the Dinamo SDYuSHORA hockey academy in Moscow, and spent most of his career on the ice as a forward with Dinamo.
He retired from hockey in 2018 and shifted his focus to management.
It's worth noting that playoff matches in the KHL are ongoing. On April 5, 2025, 'Avangard' will face Magnitogorsk's 'Metallurg' at their home turf.
