Omega Avangard's Head Coach comments on Alex Grant's absence
A Defender's Absence:
The missing link in Omsk's recent hockey games is none other than Alex Grant, who's been benched for the last two bouts against Magnitogorsk's "Metallurg."
At a post-match press conference held on April 1, 2025, Omsk's head coach, Guy Boucher, had this to say regarding his star defender's absence:
"We're hoping he'll be back in the lineup soon as he's an exceptional defender who's apt at initiating attacks, knows how to handle the puck. He's always a threat to the opposing team's net.
It's worth noting that when he was out during the regular season, we still managed to secure victories, thanks mainly to the efforts of our other players picking up the slack.
Admittedly, there were some difficulties today as we transitioned from defense to offense in his absence, but I believe that our boys are stepping up and taking on additional responsibilities, driving results," Boucher stated.
To recap, the April 1 defeat marks the fourth game of the series against Magnitogorsk, leaving Omsk behind with a 1-3 scoreline. The series continues until one team reaches four victories. The teams will meet again in Magnitogorsk on April 3, 2025.
