Oman commendably displays an extraordinary style of T20 cricket against India, as per Suryakumar Yadav in the Asia Cup match.
In the last Group A match of the Asia Cup 2025, India emerged victorious against Oman by 21 runs. The match, played in hot and humid conditions, saw a standout performance from Sanju Samson, who was named Player of the Match.
Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian batsman, made an unexpected move by demoting himself to number 11 in the batting order. Despite this, India managed to post a competitive total of 188 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
Sanju Samson, who had been sidelined in the previous games against the UAE and Pakistan, made a significant impact in this match. He shared a 66-run stand with Abhishek Sharma, scoring an impressive 56 off just 45 balls.
Meanwhile, Oman's captain, Jatinder Singh, was proud of his team's performance and execution of plans. However, he acknowledged that his team lacks experience and exposure, which was evident in their total of 167 for 4 in their 20 overs.
Arshdeep Singh, the Indian pacer, reached a significant milestone in the match, becoming the first India bowler to reach the 100-wicket landmark in men's T20 internationals. He achieved this feat with the wicket of Oman's Vinayak Shukla, making him the fourth fastest to the milestone in the world and the quickest among pacers.
Suryakumar Yadav defended the subdued outings of seamers Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh, praising Oman for playing an unbelievable brand of cricket.
Jatinder Singh, on the other hand, viewed the match as a blessing in disguise for his team, as it provided valuable experience ahead of their T20 World Cup qualifier happening in Oman.
In the post-match presentation, Sanju Samson stated, "I am really proud of the team's effort, and this award is a result of our collective hard work and support."
With this victory, India will next take on arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super Fours on Sunday, September 21. The team will be aiming to carry forward their momentum and secure a spot in the final of the Asia Cup 2025.
