Olivia expresses thoughts on a possible re-bout with Holloway.
Max Holloway's last victory, a unanimous decision against Dustin Poirier, has been overshadowed by recent developments in the UFC's lightweight division. Charles Oliveira, currently eyeing his next fight, has expressed a strong desire for a rematch with Holloway, who announced an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the year.
Despite the setback, Oliveira remains optimistic about the potential rematch, stating that it will happen "at some point." However, the Brazilian fighter is first focusing on his upcoming fight against Rafael Fiziev, scheduled for October 12, 2025.
Holloway, referred to as the BMF champion, has not confirmed when he will return to the octagon. The UFC has yet to announce a new date for his comeback.
The first bout between Oliveira and Holloway took place in 2015, with Oliveira securing a TKO victory in the first round. Oliveira's next opponent, Fiziev, will present a formidable challenge, but the Brazilian is determined to prove his worth once again.
Meanwhile, Tom Aspinall's preparation for his upcoming fight against Cyril Gane has not been affected by any coach changes. Aspinall is aiming to make a significant impact in the UFC's heavyweight division.
As for Holloway, his injury has not been disclosed, but it seems to have put a temporary hold on the highly-anticipated rematch between him and Oliveira. However, both fighters have earned their place as future UFC Hall of Famers, and fans can expect fireworks whenever they meet in the octagon.
