Located in Baden-Württemberg, she passed away peacefully in her nursing home, situated in Kirchheim unter Teck, southeast of Stuttgart. Her grandson broke the news to the German Press Agency, detailing the events of Tuesday evening.
Born on December 3, 1909, in Breslau – 17 years ahead of Queen Elizabeth II's arrival and five years before World War I began – this remarkable lady was reportedly neither bothered by her extended lifespan nor pessimistic about mortality. Last year, when asked about it, she simply said, "I didn't choose this, and I can't control it. Every person has the potential to live till the next day; they don't need to do anything special for it." Just like that, she shrugged off the notion of exceptional longevity.
With 14,000 followers on Instagram, she shared glimpses of her daily life – shopping sprees, Christmas celebrations, and outings. The last post on her account featured her savoring a glass of red wine, captioned by her grandson, "What more could a person ask for, a fine glass of wine, mouth-watering food, and loved ones by your side."
Her nursing home – a charming building with teak lining – became her religious sanctuary away from her previous home. Despite her frailty, she attended local services at the Church under the teak, finding comfort and solace among her fellow worshippers.
