What you need to know about the Oldenburger Children's Book Fair - Oldenburg’s Kibum Fair Celebrates Books, Well-Being, and Young Minds
The 51st Oldenburg Children’s and Young Adult Book Fair, known as Kibum, is underway. Running from November 15 to 25, this free event at the PFL Exhibition Center showcases over 2,000 new releases in children’s and young adult media from German-speaking countries. This year's fair, patroned by Judith Rakers, focuses on the connection between physical well-being and mental health.
Kibum emphasizes physical activity with sessions led by a personal trainer and a yoga instructor at the Wallschule gymnasium. The fair encourages children and young people to lead healthy, confident, and reflective lives. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including author readings, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and theater and film screenings. The fair is open from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekends.
The 51st Kibum, with its unique focus on physical well-being and mental health, offers a wealth of opportunities for children and young adults to engage with literature and promote their overall well-being. The fair is open to all and provides a platform for over 2,000 new releases in children’s and young adult media.
