Oktoberfest Music Contest Finalists Announced - Public Voting Commences in Munich
The city of Munich is hosting its first-ever music competition for the Oktoberfest 2025, titled "A Liad für d'Wiesn." This exciting event aims to find the best song to celebrate the Wiesn, and the competition is now in its final stages.
The expert jury, comprising Wiesn and music experts, has selected three finalists from a total of 115 submissions by musicians from Bavaria and surrounding regions. The finalists are:
- Saustoimusi with the song "Käferbam"
- Fenzl with the song "Bierdringa"
- Matakustix with the song "Hüttenliebe"
These three finalists were selected after an initial public voting phase and are now in the final stage where the public can vote again until September 15, 2025.
The songs were presented live on August 2, 2025, at the Brass Wiesn festival in Eching, performed by the Wiesnkapelle “Die Blechblos'n” brass band. The winning artist will receive prizes including live performance promotion and seats in a festival tent during Oktoberfest.
Participants in the public voting can each look forward to four tickets including two beer vouchers and one chicken voucher. The competition is being held in cooperation with Antenne Bayern, the Brass Wiesn in Eching, the Munich Brewers Association, and the Association of Munich Wiesnwirte.
The winner of the competition will present their "Liad für d'Wiesn" at the press tour on the Oktoberfest on Thursday, 18th September. The songs were reviewed based on playability, release date, tent suitability, and lyrics. The selected interpreters include both regional newcomers and established bands and well-known solo artists.
The second round of public voting will begin on September 15. The competition began on May 7 and ended on July 16 for the first round of public voting. The musical patronage for the competition is held by the young Bavarian music scene's shooting star Beni Hafner (Oimara).
So, get ready to vote for your favourite song and be a part of Munich's Oktoberfest 2025 music competition. Let the best "Liad für d'Wiesn" win!
