Oktoberfest 2025: Cost of Beer in Every Tent on the Wiesn (Fairground)
The much-anticipated Oktoberfest 2025 is just 113 days away, and with it comes the announcement of the prices for beers and other drinks.
Stefan Jagel, chairman of the Die Linke faction, has called for a price cap on liters of beer at Oktoberfest, expressing his concern over the increase in prices since 2019. However, no new information about a potential price cap has been provided.
The city of Munich does not set the drink prices at Oktoberfest, but checks them for appropriateness. Peter Inselkammer, spokesman for Munich's Oktoberfestwirts, attributes the price increase to inflation.
In 2023, a liter of beer at Oktoberfest ranged from 12.60 euros to 14.90 euros. For 2024, the range was between 13.60 and 15.30 euros. The cost of a liter of beer at Oktoberfest 2025 will range between 14.50 euros (Augustiner-Festhalle) and 15.80 euros (Münchner Stubn).
Beers from six Munich breweries will be offered in almost 40 beer tents at Oktoberfest 2025. The exact price for a liter of beer in the medium-sized festival tents ranges from 14.50 euros to 15.80 euros, with the majority of large tents charging around 15.40 euros per liter.
It's important to note that the price of a liter of beer at Oktoberfest in 2001 was 12.80 marks, which, after the switch from DM to Euro in 2002, would equate to approximately 6.80 euros.
The prices named by the gastronomers for a liter of export beer at Oktoberfest 2025 range from 7.70 euros to 13.40 euros. The average prices for non-alcoholic drinks at Oktoberfest 2025 are 10.95 euros per liter for mineral water, 12.48 euros for Spezi, and 12.11 euros for lemonade.
Christian Schottenhamel, another representative of Munich's Oktoberfestwirts, notes that price increases are never pleasant but are necessary to pay fair wages to employees.
Oktoberfest 2025 will take place from September 20 to October 5, 2025, over 16 days on Munich's Theresienwiese. While the price increase may be a concern for some, the excitement for the world's largest beer festival continues to build.
