Oklahoma Sooners Kick Off Season With Victory Over Belmont

Belmont briefly took the lead in the second half, but Oklahoma responded with a 58-54 lead at the end of the third quarter. They achieved this by holding Belmont scoreless for the final 3:27 of the period. In the final period, an 8-0 run extended Oklahoma's lead to 70-60.
Oklahoma's victory was marked by a standout performance from Beer and a promising debut from Chavez, who scored 16 points. The Sooners will next face a challenging match against No. 3 UCLA on Nov. 10, while Belmont hosts Brown on Friday.
