Oitijya-Shantanu Kaiser Literary Award 2025 Unveils Three Winning Manuscripts
The winners of the Oitijya-Shantanu Kaiser Literary Award 2025 have been announced. Three manuscripts were selected from submissions received between August and November last year. The award honours the late writer and professor Shantanu Kaiser, celebrating his legacy through literature.
The competition opened on August 23, 2025, and closed on November 15, 2025. Authors submitted their unpublished works for consideration during this period. The organisers—Shantanu Kaiser Memorial Library and Study Centre, Sajanmegh, and publishing house Oitijya—launched the prize to recognise outstanding literary talent.
The three shortlisted manuscripts are Phenaful by Hamayat Ullah Imon, Ghalib-er Mushaira by Zubair Rashid, and Purnama by Sharan Ahsan. These works will be published at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in 2026. Each of the chosen authors will receive a cash prize of Tk 50,000, along with a crest and certificate. The formal award ceremony is scheduled for April 11, 2026. This date marks the ninth death anniversary of Shantanu Kaiser. The jury’s members, responsible for selecting the winners, have not been publicly named in early 2026.
The winning manuscripts will appear at next year’s book fair. The prize money and recognition aim to support emerging writers in Bangladesh. The award continues to promote literary excellence in memory of Shantanu Kaiser.
