The first onshore EnviroVibe seismic program in Cambodia is underway on Block VIII, operated by EnerCam Resources, a subsidiary linked to Angkor Resources. This program uses environmentally friendly seismic technology, called EnviroVibe, which avoids traditional dynamite in favour of hydraulic vibration pads mounted on vehicles. These send acoustic waves into the subsurface at frequencies between 3-80 Hz over a 36-second cycle, reducing environmental impact and noise disturbance.

Details and progress:

The seismic equipment for the 350 line kilometers of seismic surveys, including over 2000 geophones, recently arrived from the contractor GeneSeis Company Limited of Thailand. EnerCam has now deployed between 35-40 personnel to execute the 2-D seismic over the verified roads and access points. The seismic teams are executing the program, which started yesterday and is expected to take a minimum of four weeks to cover the destination routes and acquire the necessary data.

The program incorporated scoping missions involving EnerCam’s lead geoscientists along with graduate students from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, ensuring local expertise involvement and attention to environmental safeguards.

Impact on Block VIII and Cambodia’s oil and gas sector:

This marks a major milestone for Cambodia’s onshore oil and gas industry, as it is the first seismic program using this modern, low-impact technology in the country. It is expected to significantly improve data quality to identify potential drill targets. EnerCam management sees this program as crucial to advancing exploration in Block VIII, which has been challenging to develop. Successful seismic imaging will guide future exploration wells and could attract further interest and investment in Cambodia’s nascent onshore hydrocarbons sector.

The adoption of environmentally sensitive seismic technology aligns with broader social and regulatory expectations, minimizing negative impacts on ecosystems and communities while advancing geological understanding.

In summary, the first onshore EnviroVibe seismic program on Cambodia’s Block VIII started in early August 2025, supported by carefully planned technical and environmental measures. It is a significant step in advancing Cambodia’s oil and gas exploration with cleaner, more efficient technology under the management of EnerCam and Angkor Resources.

Background:

Angkor Resources Corp. is a public company listed on the TSX-Venture Exchange and is a leading resource optimizer in Cambodia. EnerCam Resources was granted an onshore oil and gas license of 3700 square kilometers in Cambodia called Block VIII. All affected landowners, community, and commune authorities have given permission for EnerCam to proceed with the seismic program. Angkor's Canadian subsidiary, EnerCam Exploration Ltd., has been involved in gas/carbon capture and oil and gas production in Saskatchewan, Canada since 2022.

For more information, please contact Delayne Weeks, CEO of Angkor Resources Corp., through the company's website. Mike Weeks, President of EnerCam, expressed enthusiasm about starting the seismic program on Block VIII, calling it a significant milestone for both the company and the country. Angkor Resources Corp. has a mineral subsidiary, Angkor Gold Corp., and an energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources, in Cambodia.
