Bringing Joy to Ukraine's Children: "OHZ hilft" Delivers Christmas Cheer
In the spirit of giving, the "OHZ hilft" association based in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Lower Saxony, embarked on a mission to share Christmas joy with children in need. Their destination? The Ukrainian city of Pervomaisk. Equipped with Christmas bags filled with presents, the team of volunteers set out to bring happiness to orphaned children in the city.
Peter Göbel, the association's chairman, shared, "I've witnessed the suffering of these children during my visits to Ukraine, and that's why I decided to organize this special campaign just for children." As planned, the charity drive went smoothly, with most donations coming from individuals within the Lower Saxony district.
The donation transportation initiative began on December 14, with returns scheduled for December 21. This marks the eighth time this year that aid has been dispatched from Lower Saxony to Ukraine, as reported by Peter Göbel. He discovered the town of Pervomaisk through an earlier donation shipment.
Since March 2022, "OHZ hilft" has been instrumental in providing aid to the war-torn nation, including food, baby food, medicine, and warm clothing. They also support refugees in Lower Saxony, offering them accommodation and necessary equipment.
Standing as an example of compassion and humanity, Peter Göbel and his association continue to advocate for children's rights and humanitarian aid. Their recent Christmas campaign reaffirms their commitment to extending aid to children affected by war in the conflict-ridden nation.
