New Police Officers Sworn In at Castle Biebrich

On Monday, August 4, over 100 new police officers were sworn in at Castle Biebrich, a historic Baroque palace in Wiesbaden, Hessen. The ceremony was conducted by Interior Minister Peter Beuth and Minister President Volker Bouffier, with Department Director Stefanie König guiding the event.

Castle Biebrich, once the heart of courtly representation, provided a grand and prestigious setting for the occasion. The new employees are expected to bring fresh commitment, new perspectives, and a positive attitude to their service in a region with over 1.2 million people.

The day began with introductions and brief explanations, followed by a music and photo session. Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende and representatives of the presidency, the works council, and Wiesbaden were also in attendance.

The low number of incidents in Wiesbaden allows city police and police to focus on showcasing presence, engaging in dialogue with citizens, and creating a good feeling. This year, around 890 police commissioners-in-training were sworn in, making it the second-largest class in the history of the Hessian police, with around 1,100 police commissioners-in-training sworn in last year.

The new employees will start their service in a region renowned for its Baroque architecture and historical role as a ducal palace in Hessen. Castle Biebrich functions today as a venue for various official ceremonies and events, including those related to the police in Hessen. Its cultural importance and grandeur provide a distinguished backdrop for official events in the region.

The West Hessian Police Presidency wishes a successful start for the new employees. In fact, the presidency will open its doors to the public on June 12, allowing citizens to ask questions and get to know Hessian police up close.
