Officers Arrested in Podolsk: Five Law Enforcement Personnel Detained for Unspecified Reasons
In the gritty suburbs of Podolsk, five local cops have found themselves on the wrong side of the law. According to a statement from the regional branch of the Investigative Committee, these ex-heroes of law and order are now accused of engaging in good ol' fashioned graft.
If their rank and role within the force are any indication, these "Men in Blue" are said to have accepted bribes, moonlighting as shady intermediaries in bribery cases (under Part 6 of Article 290 and Part 4 of Article 291.1 of the Russian Criminal Code).
Apparently, from April 4 to 24, 2025, this band of brothers of corruption raked in a sweet sum of 15 million rubles from a local yegg, all in exchange for keeping their noses clean and their mouths shut on a criminal case being handled by the Investigative Department of the Russian MVD for the city of Podolsk.
Today, these unsavory characters were cuffed at the request of the investigation.
