Office Series Revival Trailer Revealed, Hints at Return of a Familiar Character

The small screen is set to welcome a new sitcom this September, as "The Paper" premieres on Peacock. This follow-up series to the beloved "The Office" promises to deliver a fresh story while maintaining strong connections to its predecessor.

"The Paper" is set in the struggling Midwestern newspaper, The Toledo Truth Teller, and brings together an ensemble cast that includes both new characters and a returning alumnus from "The Office." Domhnall Gleeson, known for his role in "Star Wars," takes on the role of Ned Sampson, a newly hired staffer at The Truth Teller.

Sabrina Impacciatore, a veteran Italian actress, plays the no-nonsense managing editor of the newspaper. Oscar Nuñez, who played Oscar Martinez in "The Office," reprises his role in "The Paper," now working in accounting at The Truth Teller.

The newsroom ensemble is rounded out by Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, and Tim Key. Recurring cast members include Tracy Letts, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Allan Havey.

Greg Daniels, who developed the American version of "The Office," co-created "The Paper" with Michael Koman. Daniels directed the pilot episode of "The Paper," which is reminiscent of the documentary style that made "The Office" a hit.

Ned Sampson, played by Domhnall Gleeson, aims to revitalize The Toledo Truth Teller. However, Oscar Martinez, played by Oscar Nuñez, expresses reluctance to the documentary crew, adding an interesting dynamic to the series.

The Toledo Truth Teller's staff is inexperienced, with one staff member boasting a junior high school paper as their only writing experience, and another listing tweeting as their expertise. Despite this, the team seems determined to make a name for themselves in the world of journalism.

"The Paper" premieres on Peacock with four episodes on September 4, 2025, and new episodes will stream every Thursday through September 25. Fans of "The Office" and newcomers alike are eagerly awaiting the return to the documentary universe.
