In return, Russia would freeze the front lines in the southern Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions and return smaller occupied areas in Sumy and Kharkiv regions, totaling approximately 170 square miles.
Zelenskyy emphasizes the need for a lasting peace, referencing past concessions made by Ukraine that were followed by further attacks from Russia. He underscores the importance of a comprehensive solution that guarantees Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
