Hamburger SV Preparing for Dompé's Potential Return against 1. FC Heidenheim

Jean-Luc Dompé, the 30-year-old striker, could make his first appearance in the Bundesliga since Hamburg's promotion, as head coach Merlin Polzin hinted at his potential inclusion in the starting lineup for the upcoming match against 1. FC Heidenheim this Saturday at 15:30 CET/Sky.

Dompé's full participation in training this week is a positive sign for the team, who have struggled to find the back of the net in their first three games. The Hamburg offense is in need of improvement, as they have yet to score a goal.

In his brief appearances against Borussia Mönchengladbach and in the city derby against FC St. Pauli, Dompé demonstrated his ability to be a match winner. Polzin has noticed Dompé's qualities in one-on-one situations and has praised his ability to create chances where there seemingly aren't any.

Unfortunately, Yussuf Poulsen, the new HSV captain, will also be unavailable due to muscular problems. Poulsen has only been brought on twice in the first three games and will have to sit out for the first time due to these issues. Poulsen has been affected by muscular problems throughout the season, and his absence will be a blow to the team.

Defender Jordan Torunarigha is also unavailable due to an Achilles tendon injury. In their first three games, Hamburg has only created four big chances, and the injury to Torunarigha will further deplete the team's options in defence.

  1. FC Heidenheim will provide a tough test for Hamburg, as they have already scored at least once in their first three games and have earned a point in the Bundesliga. The match against Heidenheim is scheduled for this Saturday, and Hamburg will be hoping for a much-needed victory to kickstart their season.

Dompé's potential return to the starting lineup could be the boost that Hamburg need to turn their fortunes around. Head coach Polzin has yet to reveal whether Dompé will start in the upcoming match, but it seems likely that the striker will be given the opportunity to showcase his skills against Heidenheim pending the final training session on Friday.
