Oettinger Brewery Reshapes Leadership After Key Executive's Exit
Oettinger, a long-standing family-owned brewery, has announced changes to its executive board. The restructuring follows the departure of Stefan Blaschak, who stepped down as managing director. Two new leaders will now take on key roles within the company. Thilo R. Pomykala will join Oettinger on 1 April, bringing extensive experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. He previously spent over six years as managing director at Hochwald, where he led sales, marketing, and innovation. Before that, he worked at Unilever, Semper idem Underberg AG, Meggle, and Hochland. Pia Kollmar, owner and managing director of Oettinger, highlighted his national and international expertise as a major asset for the brewery.
Dominika Steinberg will also take on a broader role within the executive board. In addition to her current responsibilities as head of HR and IT, she will now oversee production and technology. The changes come as Oettinger continues its operations across two main sites: Oettingen in Bavaria and Mönchengladbach in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Founded in 1731, the company remains family-run and employs around 700 people. Each year, it produces roughly six million hectoliters of beverages, filling about one billion bottles and cans with beer, beer-mix drinks, and soft drinks. The updated leadership team will guide Oettinger as it maintains its position in the beverage industry. Pomykala's background in FMCG and Steinberg's expanded responsibilities aim to support the company's future growth. The brewery continues to operate as one of Germany's largest independent family-owned businesses.
