In a statement, Leverkusen's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, expressed that the loan to Graz will provide Oermann with the opportunity to further enhance his skills at a top-tier club and obtain valuable international experience. This experience, Rolfes believes, will make Oermann an asset to Bayer 04 in the long run.
Sturm Graz will contest the playoffs for the Champions League in the upcoming season. Before joining Graz, Oermann has another significant event to look forward to - he has been included in the German U21 national team squad for the European Championship in Slovakia in June.
Neither Leverkusen nor Bochum disclosed the amount of the transfer fee paid by Bayer 04.
With his development accelerated, Leverkusen sees Oermann as a prospect for the future, planning to integrate him into the first team from the 2026/27 season onwards. The loan fee, reportedly ranging between €1.5–2 million, is said to have been influenced by Bochum's relegation circumstances, while Leverkusen views the loan as a means to prepare Oermann for the rigors of the Bundesliga.
