Sure as hell, Conan O'Brien is making a comeback as the 98th Academy Awards' host! The show's scheduled to unfold on March 15, 2026, and you can catch it on ABC.

The production team is a familiar bunch, with Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan serving as executive producers for the third consecutive year. Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney will also be back, producing for the second time, with Sweeney taking on a double duty as a writer.

Bill Kramer and Janet Yang, CEO and President of the Academy, respectively, shared their excitement: "We're pumped to have Conan, Raj, Katy, Jeff, and Mike back for the 98th Oscars! This year, they delivered a laugh-riot of a show that wowed our nominees and the entire global film community. Conan's got the knack for steering the show smoothly, with humor, warmth, and respect. We're stoked to work with them again."

Conan, known for his late-night talk shows "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien," and "Conan," threw in a joke: "I'm back for the Oscars next year just so I can listen to Adrien Brody drone on again."

Craig Erwich, President of Disney Television Group, chimed in: "We're bloody delighted to invite Conan and his stellar team back next year! Conan's knack for comedy nailed the moment, and I can't wait to see his magic work again."

Kapoor and Mullan expressed their delight: "We're beyond thrilled to be rejoining the team for the 98th Oscars! We can't wait to collaborate with Conan and his crew as we delve deeper into more heartwarming and memorable moments to honor next year's nominees and the influence of film worldwide."

Hosted by Conan this year, the 97th Oscars garnered a five-year high in both total viewers (19.69 million) and adults in the 18-49 demographic (4.54 rating), as per ABC[1].

If you're not familiar with Conan, he's best recognized for his late-night television career and a slew of Emmy Awards[2]. Prior to his hosting gigs, he served as a writer for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons.

Currently, Conan hosts the "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend" podcast, travels adventurously for Max's "Conan O'Brien Must Go" show, and supports a feature film, "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You."

Conan's racked up five Primetime Emmys and 31 nominations for his work.[1][2][3]
