Obama expresses heartfelt admiration for Merkel

Barack Obama, the former U.S. President, has expressed his thoughts on various topics, including his time as Joe Biden's vice president, his relationship with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and the challenges facing society under the 2024 election results.

During his tenure as vice president from 2009 to 2017, Biden served under Obama. Since then, Obama has acknowledged Biden's election polls as a significant step towards healing the nation after four tumultuous years with Donald Trump as president. Obama described Biden's election as having "stopped the bleeding" in the U.S.

However, Obama believes that deep-seated problems in U.S. society, such as divisions along racial, belief, geographical, and media lines, have not been solved by the 2024 election results.

Obama's political journey began, in part, due to his own experiences. Growing up without his father and feeling like an outsider may have fueled his desire to enter public life and politics.

In his relationship with Merkel, Obama initially faced skepticism. Over time, however, he developed great respect for her, describing her as consistently steadfast, smart, focused, instinctively kind, and a good person.

This week, Obama is publishing his autobiography, offering a deeper insight into his motivations, thoughts, and political positions. In the book, he advocates for unity, addresses racial inequality, supports climate change action, invests in education and healthcare, and promotes a more inclusive and equitable society.

As Obama reflects on his time in office and his legacy, he continues to be a voice for change and a beacon of hope for those seeking a more united and equitable world.
