In a candid and light-hearted conversation, former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle have finally addressed the persistent rumors of marital problems that have circulated in recent months. The couple, who have been married since 1992, spoke about their relationship on Michelle's podcast "IMO" with her brother Craig Robinson, titled "IMO: The Obamas' Surprise Guest."

The rumors, primarily fueled by Michelle's absence from several high-profile public events such as the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter and Donald Trump's inauguration, had led to speculation about a potential separation or divorce. Barack's attendance at these events alone further stoked the rumor mill.

However, in a rare joint appearance, the Obamas addressed these rumors with humor and openness. Barack joked, "She took me back! It was touch and go for a while," while Michelle affirmed that she never considered leaving her husband. She explained that with their daughters grown and Barack no longer in public office, she now feels more freedom to make decisions independently, which explains some of her absence from events.

Michelle admitted that the Obama marriage has had tough times, but also many beautiful moments and adventures. She surprised those who have been speculating about the end of their marriage with her words, stating unequivocally that there was never a moment when she thought about leaving her husband.

Barack reacted emotionally to his wife's words, asking her not to make him cry at the beginning of the podcast. He expressed surprise at the extent of the rumors, stating, "These are things I just don't hear about. Then someone brings it up, and I think, 'What are you talking about?'"

In a moment that brought laughter to listeners, Craig recounted encounters with strangers asking about Michelle's marriage. One stranger asked, "What did he do? He must have done something, right?" To which Craig would respond, "No, he hasn't done anything." And when he assured the stranger that Barack Obama hadn't done anything, she was "so happy, like I'd given her a Christmas present."

The Obamas' candid conversation served as a reminder that just because they're not constantly appearing together in public doesn't mean their marriage is over. The message was clear: they are still very much a strong partnership, and their love remains as vibrant as ever.

I'm not going to be a big fan of the show if it spreads more rumors about the Obamas' marriage, given the recent confusing speculations on social media about their relationship. Regardless, I admire their stance on entertainment and celebrities; they choose to handle such matters with honesty and humor instead of sensationalism.
