Snow and storms are causing chaos on the roads in Saxony, leading to numerous accidents and injuries. Chemnitz, in particular, has been heavily affected, with the local police responding to 43 incidents during the night, resulting in five injuries, some of them severe. Trees falling onto roads were a common occurrence in these incidents. The Zwickau police also had to deal with several incidents in Vogtland, where trees had toppled over.
Due to the bad weather, authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution and adjust their driving habits accordingly. With up to ten centimeters of fresh snow expected in some areas, it's essential to reduce speed, increase following distances, and avoid non-essential travel if possible.
