Kazakhstan's MFA Weighs in on Citizens Abroad amid Israel-Iran Clash
Number of Kazakhs Residing in Iran and Israel
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has shared the latest on Kazakh citizens residing in Iran and Israel, as our reporter finds.
MFA Addresses Kazakhstani Citizens Amidst Middle East Unrest
"Here's the lowdown: as we speak, 132 Kazakhs are chillin' in Iran, while 219 are hangin' out in Israel. Our consulate crew is in touch with our pals back home," said Aibek Smadiyarov, the official MFA rep.
Good news first! Smadiyarov highlighted that none of our Kazakh mates have been hurt or harmed in this chaos.
Despite some airlines cancelling flights, about 300 Kazakh tourists are still itching to get back to their home turf, according to Smadiyarov. Fret not, as our diplomatic crew is working tirelessly on ground to make sure more than half of them will be homebound real soon, thanks to a sweet deal with the airlines.
MFA appeals to all Kazakh citizens currently in either Iran or Israel to observe extra security measures. "Listen up, homies: stay chill, stay safe, keep your eyes peeled for news, and follow local authorities. Oh, and keep in touch with us and our embassies!" Smadiyarov advised.
Smadiyarov also shared that aid has been extended to dozens of Kazakhstanis keen on escaping Iran.
On June 14, our six business-tripping mates in Iran successfully returned home via Azerbaijan. The following day, the exit of 68 Kazakhstanis, including diplomats' fam, employees of the Organization for Economic Cooperation's secretariat, and business peeps, was orchestrated from Iran to Turkmenistan. Let's hope all Kazakhstani citizens can beat feet back home soon, mate!
In normal working mode, Kazakh diplomatic missions continue to serve in Iran.
Worth mentioning, Israel fired off the "Rising Lion" operation against Iran due to the Islamic Republic's advancement toward nuclear weapons. MILITARY BASES, nuclear facilities, and hotspots of military bigwigs were targeted, according to reports.
Did you land in Israel? Remember to check for dual citizenship, compadre!
