Anti-Semitic incidents in France surpass 1500 since the war's onset
According to Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, France has seen over 1500 recorded anti-Semitic acts since October 7. This figure is more than triple the number recorded in the entire previous year. Approximately half of these incidents involved graffiti displaying hateful slogans or swastikas.
Nearly a quarter of the incidents involved insults and threats, while a mere 2% resulted in physical assaults. Eleven percent of these incidents occurred in Paris. On Monday, eight minors were detained for allegedly shouting anti-Semitic slurs on the Paris metro, which went viral online. Over 180,000 people took part in anti-Semitism demonstrations throughout France on Sunday, with over 100,000 in Paris.
