Nuevo León's Child-Centric District Takes Shape with New Hospital and Water Park

Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda and Mariana Rodríguez Cantú recently toured the Distrito Infantil de Nuevo León to review progress on two major projects. The visit included the new Children's Hospital and the future Parque del Agua, both central to the state's plans for improving public spaces. Officials also inspected child welfare facilities as part of the broader initiative.

The first phase of the Children's Hospital is set for completion in December. This phase will provide nearly half a million children with access to advanced medical care. The hospital complex will include four buildings, offering general consultations, inpatient wards, and 28 outpatient specialty clinics. Inside the main facility, 27 additional clinics will support 31 pediatric specialties, from oncology to endocrinology. A total of 309 beds will be available for young patients.

The Distrito Infantil aims to create a child-focused hub, linking key institutions. Three pedestrian bridges will connect the hospital to the stadium, Parque La Pastora, and the upcoming Water Park. Governor García also visited the DIF Capullos centre and the Office for the Protection of Children and Adolescents to assess their operations.

The Water Park, described as the state's most ambitious ecological project, will prioritise water conservation and sustainability. Authorities emphasised its role in transforming the area into an integrated space for families and children.

The projects form part of a wider strategy to enhance public infrastructure and community well-being. Once completed, the Children's Hospital and Water Park will serve as key facilities in Nuevo León's child-centred district. Official updates on construction timelines and milestones are expected from state authorities in due course.
