"Nuclear Threat Posed by Pakistan Requires Global Disarmament": Insistence by Asaduddin Owaisi

Spicing Things Up: Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM chief, fires a pointed question about Pakistan's nuclear arsenal and its fit to wield such powerful weapons amidst persistent threats towards India and perceived ties to terrorism.

At a heated event, the Hyderabad MP questioned whether the global community should allow Pakistan, where its military seemingly clutches the reins of the civilians, to maintain nuclear weapons. Pakistan, a country that frequently warns India of a nuclear catastrophe, according to Owaisi, should be disarmed, he asserted.

Owaisi, not mincing words, called Pakistan a "failed state" that poses a grave danger to the world. He urged the international community to act decisively, disarming its nuclear weapons - a threat that endangers all of humanity.

"The time has come for not just the Western world, but every nation, to rally together and guarantee that the nuclear arms Pakistan holds are disarmed. They are a menace to all of humanity. They have been leveraging terrorism to destabilize India," Owaisi, the Lok Sabha MP, said.

The politician also blasted the International Monetary Fund for approving a $1 billion loan to Pakistan, despite its history of supporting terrorism. He labeled the loan as a "loan to a militant group," warning these funds will primarily fuel cross-border terrorism against India.

India, on the same day, signaled that any future terrorist attack by Pakistan would be considered an act of war, and India would respond accordingly, sources confirmed. Tensions have been rising as Pakistan has been launching drone and missile attacks on Indian military installations and civilian zones for the past three nights.

The announcement of the new rules of engagement against terror with cross-border connections follows hard on the heels of the May 7 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that left 26 tourists dead. In response, India conducted precision cruise missile strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. However, Pakistan retaliated by escalating the situation by attacking civilian areas in India with drones.

The role of the Pakistani army in supporting terrorist groups to launch attacks against India is evident, as the military came to the defense of terror infrastructure hit by the Indian missiles during Operation Sindoor. Indian military and intelligence sources have provided irrefutable evidence of Pakistani military elements, including those linked to the Inter-Services Intelligence, providing logistical support, safe havens, training, and financial backing to terrorist groups operating in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The proximity of some terrorist camps to known military installations and cantonments reinforces the suspicion that they are being deliberately shielded, sources said.

Heads Up: While Pakistan's nuclear stockpile of around 170 to over 200 weapons is a considerable concern, the international community's vigilance and efforts towards diplomacy are crucial in preventing an escalation of tensions that could potentially lead to a nuclear war with devastating, global consequences.
