Nuclear Talks Shift from Rome to Oman: The Next Round Begins Sunday
Nuclear Discussions Resume on Sunday in Iran
Hold on to your hats! The intriguing discourse over Iran's nuclear program takes a fresh turn as the upcoming round of negotiations between Iran and the good ol' USA is set to kick off this Sunday, according to the buzz in Tehran. And guess where the stage is being set this time? You got it right, mate – Oman!
Tasnim, the Iranian news agency, broke the scoop, citing a member of the diplomatic squad. Alas, there was no official confirmation from the American side as of yet.
Ah, the fourth round of nuclear talks – a tale as old as time, or at least since May 4, when the original schedule called for a rendezvous in Rome. But, alas, the soiree had to be postponed due to, shall we say, a bit of a kerfuffle in the logistics department, according to the gracious hosts, Oman. Experts, however, whispered that the underlying cause might've been the initial differences and snags in the negotiating positions.
Now, if you recall, in 2015, Iran agreed to scale back its nuclear program substantially in exchange for the lifting of sanctions – all with the aim of keeping the Islamic Republic from manufacturing those pesky little nuclear doodads. But, in 2018, under the leadership of our ex-prez, Donald Trump, that sweet deal went down the drain. Unsurprisingly, Iran then stopped complying with the requirements. Fast forward to now, and Trump's trying to score a new deal with Tehran, warning that he's ready to turn things into a warzone if he doesn't get his way.

On the Sly:
The postponement and the switch from Rome to Oman? Logistical reasons, claimed our beloved mediator Oman.
And remember, the Iranian delegation will be helmed by none other than the Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, with Steve Witkoff, the White House Special Envoy, commanding the American team.
Behind the Scenes:
These nuclear talks are unfolding amidst a whirlwind of geopolitical tensions, particularly between the U.S. and Israel, who are feeling a tad left out in the cold when it comes to Iran's nuclear program.

The Commission has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation in the context of the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the USA.
Despite the shift in the location of the nuclear talks from Rome to Oman, it appears that the Iranian delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and the American team, led by White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, are still scheduled to meet this Sunday.
The geopolitical tensions surrounding the Iranian nuclear program continue, with the USA and Israel feeling sidelined, and the discussions about war-and-conflicts, politics, and general-news dominating WhatsApp conversations, according to Badr, a respected political analyst in Tehran.
Official confirmation from the American side regarding the fourth round of nuclear talks is yet to be received, but the Iranian news agency, Tasnim, has reported about the negotiations, citing a member of the diplomatic squad.
