Nearly 100 Cannabis Cultivation Associations Approved in NRW - NRW Approves 97 Cannabis Cultivation Associations as Legalization Effects Evaluated
The regional governments in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) have been busy processing cannabis cultivation association applications. As of now, 97 associations have been approved across the region. The government chief in Düsseldorf, Thomas Schürmann, oversees these proceedings.
In Düsseldorf, 53 applications were received, with 27 approved and 6 withdrawn. Meanwhile, in Münster, 13 associations have been given the green light. However, 77 applications are still under review across NRW. The regional government in Arnsberg has approved 21 associations and rejected 1. In Cologne, 25 associations have been approved out of 54 applications, with 26 still open and 3 withdrawn. The authority in Detmold has approved 11 out of 24 applications, leaving 10 in process.
The black-red coalition is currently evaluating the effects of the partial legalization of cannabis in NRW. Initial results indicate limited impact on black market procurement but a rise in health disorders related to cannabis consumption.
