The fourth stage of the Ussuriysk City Cup in rapid chess has concluded with strong performances from young players. Among the competitors, members of the Novoshakhtinsk Chess Club stood out, reinforcing the club’s reputation as a key training ground. The tournament drew participants from across Primorsky Krai, showcasing regional talent. The event took place in Ussuriysk, where Dmitry Li secured first place in the adult category. Vladimir Pinchuk narrowly missed a podium spot, finishing just half a point behind the top three.

The Novoshakhtinsk Chess Club, based in the Mikhailovsky Municipal District, has long been a driving force in chess development. Its success stems from the guidance of experienced coach Akhmat Musaev, who founded a Grandmaster School in the city. Graduates from this school include Russian champions and prize winners at world championships. Support from Primorskugol and the Melnichenko Foundation has helped sustain the club’s growth.
