November's here, and it's bringing a stormy side!

First in line is a low-pressure system named "Jasper," followed by "Knud." According to the German Weather Service (DWD), these systems are set to bring plenty of rain and wind. Stormy gusts are predicted in the north starting from Thursday night.

By Friday, we might witness heavy storms and torrential rain yet again in southern Germany. But don't take this as a definite, as the DWD's meteorologist Christian Herold from Offenbach warns that these forecasts are still up in the clouds. They might as well sprinkle some snow in the low mountain ranges and along the Alps' edge. Clear skies are guaranteed by Wednesday, at the latest.

Midweek will see a cloudy sky with rain spanning from the North Sea to the Ore Mountains. On-and-off showers may intrude too. Temperatures will range from 7 to 10 degrees in the northeast to 9 to 14 degrees in the southwest. Expect particularly windy conditions in the south, especially the windy mountain peaks, where gale-force winds might persist on Wednesday.

Germany's weather is only getting soggy in some regions, with Allgäu expecting an additional 70 to 90 liters of rain per square meter by noon on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Black Forest is witnessing a slight improvement, with over 130 liters per square meter falling in just two days – a usual monthly total. Rain will continue to fall in the northeast and east on Thursday, otherwise, only occasional showers should be expected.

The DWD's forecast proposes that the next low-pressure system will carry more rain and gusty winds across Germany, following the November trend. While heavy storms and rainfall might hit southern Germany on Friday, specifics are still under wraps.

[3] While November's average monthly precipitation in Germany is not provided, it typically sees an increase in precipitation as winter approaches.

[4] The year 2018 saw significant weather events in Germany, such as windstorm Friederike, which brought heavy snowfall and strong winds. This event underscores the possibility of compound extreme weather events in Germany, including heavy precipitation and high wind speeds.
