Nouripour, a dedicated critic of the Iranian leadership, encountered significant challenges in finding his footing once again following these harrowing experiences. Born and raised in Tehran, he and his family settled in Hesse at the age of 13.
Last year, amidst critical public protests in Iran, physicians, lawyers, artists, students, and others joined the battle against the government and the Islamic system of rule. The demonstrations, which gained momentum amid violence and suppression, were sparked by the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in police custody. She had been detained for allegedly failing to adhere to the Islamic dress code.
