KSG Wuppertal City Regatta 2025: A Celebration of Youth and Sport

The KSG Wuppertal is set to host its traditional city regatta at the Beyenburger Stausee on October 4-5, 2025, promising an exciting weekend of canoe racing for all. The event, which attracts many friendly clubs, is a significant highlight of the city's youth development work.

In the AK10-Mixed-C4 race on October 4, the KSG crew of Ebhardt J., Doering, Hoß, and Roese fought valiantly, securing a silver medal. Meanwhile, Timo Rosenthal and Matthias Ebhardt, two KSG students, competed against each other over 200 meters in the same event. Rosenthal emerged victorious, claiming the silver, while Ebhardt took home the bronze.

The girls' U12 quartet of Wasserfuhr, Doering, Johanna Ebhardt, and Roese also shone, winning the gold in another event. In a separate team event, the pairing of Johanna Ebhardt and Roese finished fifth, while Roese and Fynn Hoß placed fourth.

Johanna Ebhardt faced a setback in the girls' U12 category as she was pushed out just before the start. However, she bounced back with the KSG team, winning gold in the AK10 field alongside Klara Kremser, Paulina Zmarly (AK9), and Sophie Ebhardt.

Klara Kremser, who finished fifth in the girls' U12 category preliminary round, also found success. Together with Emil Theopold from SG LVB, she won gold in a team event. Sophie Ebhardt also claimed victory in the AK10 200-meter canoe race.

In the girls' U12 category, Jule Anouk Wasserfuhr was disqualified due to a faulty finish. However, she triumphed with the SG LVB team in the AK12 mixed C4 race, securing the gold. Paulina Zmarly (AK9) also won gold in the 200-meter canoe race. Emma Sofie Roese (AK 11) added another gold to the KSG's collection by winning her 200-meter race.

Lastly, the girls' U12 quartet of Wasserfuhr, Doering, Johanna Ebhardt, and Roese won gold in the C2 team event, with Kremser and Sophie Ebhardt securing another gold in the same event. Jennifer Doering, the deputy KSG chairperson, summarised the event as a sporting highlight of the youth development work.

The KSG Wuppertal city regatta is not just a competition; it's a celebration of the city's youth and their dedication to sport. With exciting races anticipated, it promises to be a weekend filled with camaraderie, competition, and celebration.
