Nostalgic swing tribute to Billy Joel headlines Hamburg's music summer event
The city of Homburg is gearing up for its annual music festival, Homburg Music Summer, which is set to begin this weekend. The event, organised by the IG Homburger Altstadt e.V. and the city of Homburg, will feature a variety of music genres in the picturesque market square of the old town.
One of the highlights of the festival is the tribute band "All About Joel", who will be performing hits like Piano Man, Uptown Girl, and We Didn't Start the Fire, as well as lesser-known but equally impressive compositions of Billy Joel. Led by Thomas Matiszik, the band is known for its powerful and independent performances, not just an imitation of the original artist. "All About Joel" is a six-member band that pays tribute to the legendary musician.
Another act not to be missed is the "Singin' Birds", a five-member jazz ensemble inspired by acts like the Andrews Sisters, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and Ella Fitzgerald. The "Singin' Birds" will be performing on two different days - on Friday, July 25th, at 7 pm, and on Saturday, July 26th, at 11 am.
