Sat's balmy summer weather lured folks to Northern beaches, parks, sweet shops, and outdoor pools like never before! The German Weather Service (DWD) reported temperatures skyrocketing to about 27°C at the Danish border, in St.-Peter-Ording, and on Poel Island, with Hamburg sizzling at a scorching 30°C. Along the Eastern Baltic Sea coast, temperatures stayed a touch cooler due to the east wind, ranging from 18 to 24°C.

Though the sunny skies offer a temporary reprieve, it'll be short-lived, according to a DWD meteorologist.By Saturday evening, the threat of showers and thunderstorms loomed over the north, with the humidity on the rise.

Sunday's forecast may see some stormy weather in certain spots, but they'll likely move east throughout the day. The winds will shift, making it a tick cooler with temperatures between 20 and 23°C.

Looking ahead, the week ahead promises calmer weather per the meteorologist. Islanders seeking respite are encouraged to head there, with temperatures hovering around the 19°C mark for the next couple of days.

It's uncertain if summer's warmth will return to Northern Germany any time soon. "For now, the summer in northern Germany has been your average mid-European summer," she chuckled. "But, sooner or later, things are bound to shift!"
