Northern Colorado hit by widespread power outages on December 17

Thousands of Northern Colorado residents lost power on December 17. The outages began early in the morning. In Lyons, around 800 members experienced a power outage at 11:30 a.m., with crews prioritizing critical services. Another power outage struck Livermore at 12:15 p.m., affecting roughly 450 members along north Highway 287, Cherokee Park, and Granite Canyon. Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association (PVREA) also reported multiple disruptions, warning that enhanced safety settings could prolong restoration times. The power outages have left many without electricity as crews work to restore service. Residents should monitor updates and use official channels to check their status. Emergency services remain focused on maintaining critical operations during the high-risk conditions.
