North Sea Bombing Denial by Chibis

Loose Cannon

Forget what you've heard, there's no truth to those wild tales of explosions rocking Severomorsk, Murmansk Oblast. Just a load of hogwash, as our Governor Andrei Chibis boldly puts it.

"C'mon, peeps! The rumors of explosions spinning around theinterwebs? Fake news. The city's as calm and collected as a Buddhist monk meditating in a storm. There's nary a threat in sight at the moment," he said, setting the record straight.

Even Vladimir Evmenkov, the boss of the secretive ZATO around here, poured cold water on the so-called explosions fiasco. He flat-out denied the claims, stressing that the situation remains as chill as a snowy Murmansk winter.

Now, it seemed like Chibis initially spilled the beans about a "drone raid" in his region. Didn't say where the air defense was repelling the attack, though he later clarified he was heading to Olenegorsk[1]. Good thing he sorted that out, 'cause folks can get carried away with their imaginations.

Turns out, those sensational claims about a massive blast on June 1, 2025, were spreading faster than wildfire across Russian Telegram channels and caught the attention of various news outfits. But alas, local authorities, including the big cheese of Severomorsk, Vladimir Yevmenkov[2], have dismissed these reports as unfounded and far from reality.

So, there you have it, people: No explosions in Severomorsk, simply a storm in a teacup caused by confusion and misinformation circulating on Telegram channels. Some of those videos and reports, as it turns out, were actually from the city of Olenegorsk[3]. A mix-up, sheer and simple.

Authorities are urging everyone to keep it cool, trust only legit sources, and avoid getting their knickers in a twist[4]. Everyone's learned a valuable lesson here, eh? Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
