It will be sunny - but not until Wednesday - North Rhine-Westphalia braces for a rollercoaster week of shifting weather
North Rhine-Westphalia is set for a mixed week of weather, with conditions shifting from dreary to pleasant before turning unsettled again. The region will see a brief spell of sunshine midweek, but clouds and showers return by Friday.
Tuesday will begin on a dull note, with overcast skies and light drizzle across the region. The following day, however, brings a noticeable change as temperatures rise to 17–18°C (63–64°F) under sunny skies.
The fair weather continues into Thursday, with highs again near 18°C (64°F) and dry conditions. Overnight, though, temperatures will drop sharply—down to around 2°C (36°F) in low-lying areas and as low as -3°C (27°F) in higher elevations. By Friday, the improvement fades as clouds thicken and scattered showers move in. The weekend outlook remains changeable, though no severe weather is expected.
Residents can expect a midweek break from the grey, with two days of sunshine and mild temperatures. However, the shift back to cloudier, wetter conditions by Friday signals an unstable end to the week. Cooler nights will also return, particularly in elevated areas.
