Hausbruch-Neugrabener Turnerschaft Shines at North German Masters Championships
The small town of Rathenow, Brandenburg, played host to a thrilling sports event as the Masters Championships took place, with the race walking event being held concurrently. Among the participants were two young talents from the Hausbruch-Neugrabener Turnerschaft (HNT), Keno Münkenwarf and Jan Daur.
In the race walking event, both athletes delivered impressive performances. Keno Münkenwarf clinched the North German title with a time of 18:52.30 minutes, while Jan Daur finished second with a time of 18:53.13 minutes. Their performances placed them in the top 5 of the German rankings for their age group.
Meanwhile, in other events, Keno Münkenwarf and Jan Daur's fellow HNT athletes were also making their mark. Dr. Thomas-Joern Schulz won the North German title in the javelin throw M60 category with a throw of 41.03 meters, while Silke Hennings achieved fourth place in the discus throw and fourth place in the shot put.
The HNT Masters team, consisting of Sandra Meyer-Lindloff, Sabine Frommann, and others, also had successful performances. Frommann, on the other hand, became North German vice-champion in the W50 category's triple jump with a distance of 8.70 meters.
The competition was held in temperatures around 30°C, but this did not deter the athletes from giving their best. The race walking event for the youngest age category, U16, was also included in the event, showing the wide range of age groups represented.
