Areas like Rostock, Nordwest-Mecklenburg, Ludwigslust-Parchim, and Mecklenburg Lake District currently have a medium fire danger level (3), while Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein face a low to medium fire risk, according to the DWD.
Backhaus encourages caution when handling fire in the great outdoors: avoid smoking in the woods, don't toss cigarette butts out of your car, and steer clear of woodland campfires and barbecues this weekend.
