McLaren is the frontrunner this Formula 1 season, provided their drivers don't square off. Unfortunately, at the Canadian Grand Prix, they did. The "McLaren-Smash," just before the race's end, has caused quite a stir among the spectators, even overshadowing George Russell's brilliant weekend at Mercedes.

Mirror: "Trying to make up for a poor qualifying, Norris made a move that was too risky, and crashed into Piastri, his teammate and title rival... The pair were battling in Montreal three laps from the end when Norris tried to outdo the Australian on the start-finish straight. There was no room, and he mistimed his move, clipping the rear of the other McLaren, sending it into the wall. A tough blow to his title aspirations. Piastri was able to continue and finished fourth, while Norris left Canada empty-handed with a kick in his teeth."
France
Le Parisien: "On Lap 67, following a thrilling duel with his teammate, Lando Norris overstepped. Sandwiched between the wall and the racetrack of Oscar Piastri, who slightly veered left, the Englishman lost his front wing first, followed by his car."

Austria
Kleine Zeitung: "Behind the top three, the internal battle at McLaren ended in the first big crash of the two Papaya teammates. Norris pursued championship leader Piastri for several laps before a series of attacks and counterattacks culminated in a collision just before the end of the race. Norris crashed into the rear of the Australian as he accelerated out of the last corner. The Briton immediately admitted fault, acknowledging there was insufficient room for an overtaking maneuver."
Kronen Zeitung: "On Lap 67, it was their turn: Norris tried to force his way past Piastri, but wrecked his front wing in the process. The Briton immediately took full responsibility."

Formula1 **"Whoops", "clumsy"oscopy' of Formula 1 rookie Norris' on-track gaffe"
As: "McLaren's harmony came loose, or smashed into the wall, in a major crash in Montreal that they strategically didn't foresee. At the front, Russell won his fourth Formula 1 race from pole position in a totally dominant weekend that almost forced Mercedes to offer him a contract extension on Monday."
Mundo Deportivo: "Norris had warned before Canada that his title fight against Oscar would eventually become 'exciting'. And it happened. The Briton showed that he's still far from being a champion. First because he couldn't trouble the Aussie without Piastri's DRS, lacking the aggression and determination needed to attack. And then because he raced ahead just as he was about to succeed."
Sport: "Norris and Piastri were allowed to fight at the McLaren pit wall, taking their battle to the limit. The Aussie finished fourth and continues to lead the championship. However, Norris crashed and added a painful zero to his record."
Italian
Gazzetta dello Sport: "Third place for Kimi Antonelli. After 16 years, an Italian driver returns to the podium. (...) Fourth place for Oscar Piastri, who engaged in a thrilling duel with his teammate Lando Norris towards the end. The Englishman ended up on the wall due to the collision between the two: a misjudgment by the British driver, who immediately apologized to the team."
Corriere dello Sport: "A tough race. In the final stages, Norris attempts to outmaneuver Piastri and ends up in the wall."
