Ski Jumping Injuries: Combined Skier Geiger Misses Season Start - Nordic combined stars Geiger and Rydzek to miss Olympic season due to injuries

The Winter Olympics are set to commence in Italy from February 6 to 22. Meanwhile, reigning overall World Cup champion in Nordic combined, Vinzenz Geiger, has announced he will miss the start of the Olympic season due to an injury. Geiger, currently in his second week of rehabilitation, suffered three bone avulsion fractures during a warm-up for strength training. The German athlete aims to return as soon as possible but will skip the opening World Cup events in Ruka, Finland (November 27–30), and Trondheim, Norway (December 5–7). In a similar situation, Johannes Rydzek, another Nordic combined athlete, will also miss the Olympic season due to three bone avulsion fractures in his ankle. He will sit out the World Cup events in Ruka and Trondheim as well. Both Geiger and Rydzek are working towards recovery, with Geiger aiming to return as soon as possible. The Winter Olympics in Italy will proceed as planned from February 6 to 22, with the absence of these athletes creating a void in the Nordic combined events.
