Noè Ponti defends 50m butterfly gold at European Championships

Swiss swimmer Noè Ponti has claimed gold in the 50m butterfly at the European Championships in Lublin, Poland. His victory marks a successful defence of his title, with a winning time of 24.54 seconds. Meanwhile, Belgian teenager Roos Vanotterdijk will race in the 100m individual medley semifinal after breaking the national record in the event.

Ponti dominated the 50m butterfly final, finishing ahead of Hungary’s Szebasztián Szabó and France’s Maxime Grousset. His time of 24.54 seconds secured back-to-back European titles in the event.

Ponti’s gold in the 50m butterfly confirms his status as one of Europe’s top sprinters. Vanotterdijk’s record-breaking performance in the 100m individual medley sets her up for a strong semifinal showing. Both swimmers will now focus on their next races in Lublin.
