Noah Gregor smashes Panthers' record with 8-second NHL goal

Noah Gregor made NHL history on Thursday night by scoring the fastest goal in Florida Panthers' franchise history. His strike came just eight seconds into the game against the Ottawa Senators, setting a new team record. The goal also marked the quickest scored in the league this season so far. The play began with Tomas Nosek winning the opening faceoff. Seth Jones immediately dumped the puck into the Senators' zone, allowing Gregor to capitalise and fire it past Linus Ullmark.

Gregor's goal shattered the Panthers' previous record by two seconds. It also surpassed the fastest goals scored this season, which had both been timed at 11 seconds. The NHL's all-time record for the quickest goal to start a game stands at five seconds, achieved by Merlyn Phillips, Doug Smail, Bryan Trottier, and Alexander Mogilny. The Panthers didn't stop there. They dominated early, building a 5-0 lead within the first 14 minutes and 36 seconds. Ullmark, the Senators' starting goaltender, was pulled after allowing five goals on just 16 shots.

Gregor's lightning-fast goal set the tone for a commanding Panthers performance. The team's explosive start overwhelmed Ottawa, with Ullmark's early exit highlighting the one-sided nature of the game. The victory further solidified Florida's reputation for quick, aggressive play this season.
