Nizhny Tagil's New 5,700-Sq-M Sports Hub Opens in September

A large sports complex on Frunze Street in Nizhny Tagil is set to open in September. The 5,700-square-metre facility is currently in its final stages of construction. Once complete, it will offer a wide range of activities for the public. The project is being developed under an agreement with EVRAZ NTMK. Its design follows public calls to improve sports infrastructure and ensure accessibility for all visitors.

The complex will feature a 25-metre swimming pool with four lanes. A game hall will accommodate table tennis, volleyball, and basketball. Additional spaces include warm-up areas, fitness studios, and rooms for dance classes. Special zones for *phygital* sports—combining physical and digital activities—will also be available. The entire facility meets barrier-free standards, with ramps, an elevator, adapted showers, and lifts for wheelchair users.

The new sports centre will be open to everyone and is expected to draw large numbers of visitors. Its completion marks a step toward expanding public access to modern athletic facilities in the region. The project remains on track for its September opening.
