Nizhny Novgorod Plant Doubles Output with Lean Manufacturing
A leading energy sector equipment producer, with over 60% of its revenue from KSO Novatsiya switchgear cabinets, has seen significant improvements in manufacturing efficiency. This is part of a wider trend in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, where five electrical product manufacturers have adopted tools from the Labor Productivity federal project, involving over 300 regional companies.
The breakthrough came through the implementation of lean manufacturing technologies. The Nizhny Novgorod Electrical Engineering Plant, a branch of Nizhny Novgorodsky Elektrotekhnichesky Zavod LLC, was one of the companies to benefit. Experts from the Regional Competence Center trained 17 employees and certified three in-house trainers in lean manufacturing techniques. Over six months, they identified and addressed 22 bottlenecks in the production process. The results were impressive: output on the pilot production line more than doubled.
