Nizhny Novgorod Opera and Ballet Theatre Celebrates 90 Years with Moscow Gala
The Nizhny Novgorod State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre will mark its 90th anniversary with a special gala concert in Moscow. The event, set for 2 April, will showcase leading soloists and a renowned orchestra in a programme of classical and contemporary works. No other Russian opera or ballet company has held a similar milestone celebration in the capital over the past five years. The gala will take place in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Accompanied by the La Voce Strumentale orchestra, conducted by Dmitry Sinyavsky, the evening will feature compositions by Gustav Mahler and Leonid Desyatnikov.
Among the performers are the theatre's own soloists: Yan Dyakov, Dilyara Idrisova, and Sergey Godin. They will be joined by Valeria Gorbunova, a recent winner of the *Nizhny Novgorod Pearl* award, and Nadezhda Pavlova, an Honoured Artist of Russia. The concert highlights a rare occasion for the Pushkin Theatre, as its anniversary celebration brings together acclaimed artists for a single evening in Moscow.
The 90th-anniversary gala will present a mix of orchestral and vocal pieces, with works by Mahler and Desyatnikov taking centre stage. The performance will also serve as a platform for the theatre's soloists, including award-winning and distinguished artists. Tickets for the event are available for the 2 April concert at the Moscow Conservatory.
