Nizhny Novgorod enforces temporary parking bans for snow clearance later this month

Parking restrictions will be enforced in parts of Nizhny Novgorod later this month. The measures affect two central districts and several key streets. They are linked to planned snow clearance work for public safety.

The restrictions begin on January 21, 2026, in the Nizhegorodsky and Kanavinsky areas. On that evening, Kovalikhinskaya Street will limit parking from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Later, Maxim Gorky Square will close to parked vehicles between 10:30 PM and 12:30 AM.

The following day, 7A Revolution Square will also face restrictions. Parking there will be banned from 12:30 AM until 4:00 AM on January 22. Authorities have not yet confirmed which department is overseeing the changes. The temporary rules aim to help crews clear snow efficiently. Officials have cited safety as the main reason for the restrictions.

Drivers in Nizhny Novgorod should plan ahead for the upcoming parking limits. The affected zones include busy streets and public squares. The restrictions will remain in place only during the specified hours for snow removal.
